About Alexander Mackenzie High School:
Established in 1969, Alexander Mackenzie High School is dedicated to continually enhancing its educational offerings and curricula for its student body. The school is named in honor of Major Addison Alexander Mackenzie, a philanthropist from Richmond Hill, and strives to uphold his legacy in the community. AMHS provides both academic excellence and artistic opportunities. It proudly houses an International Baccalaureate program and a Specialized Arts Program. Notably, Alexander Mackenzie HS is one of only four high schools in York Region to offer such a specialized arts program. Auditions for the Specialized Arts Program are conducted in January of each school year, with registration commencing in early November.
