Introduction

King City Secondary School, established in 1961 and aptly named after the town, is located on a 20-acre campus along the south side of King Road, directly opposite the King City Public Library. The impressive 200,000-square-foot building is a testament to the school’s commitment to progress. Embracing the motto “semper progrediens” (always progressing), the school is dedicated to delivering quality education, along with ample opportunities in the realms of arts and sports. The unwavering support of the staff and teachers at King City extends beyond traditional teaching, as they actively encourage students to set ambitious goals, challenging them to surpass their limits.

With renovations starting in 1962, King City Secondary School has continuously evolved to meet the changing needs of its students. The transformation began with the addition of a technical studies area, also known as the Tech Wing. In 1966, further enhancements were made  with the construction of a third gym and library, forming the eastern wing of the building. In 1991, the campus saw the addition of a centrally located library resource centre, seamlessly integrated next to the Tech Wing. Beyond the walls, the western side of the campus includes an outdoor 400m track enveloping a Canadian football field, while the eastern side features a soccer pitch. These fields serve as dynamic spaces for   lacrosse, track and field, rugby union, and field hockey, highlighting the school’s commitment to fostering a holistic and vibrant learning environment.
