Introduction
Founded in 2005, Richmond Green Secondary School is located near Richmond Green park and is attached to Richmond Green Public Library, offering students a convenient and educational setting. Located just off Leslie Street, Richmond Green Secondary School promotes a flexible and supportive learning atmosphere for its high school students. Originally constructed for temporary purposes to accommodate a nearby public school, RGSS has evolved into a full-fledged secondary school with robust extracurricular activities and academic achievements. The school’s enrollment has steadily grown over the years, with expectations for further growth in the future.
Highlights
Richmond Green has produced exceptional alumni who have made notable contributions in the world of figure skating. These include Andrei Rogozine, a gold medalist at the 2011 World Junior Figure Skating Championships and Gabrielle Daleman, another accomplished figure skater, who represented Canada at the 2014 Winter Olympics. Additionally, Denis Margalik, an international figure skater and the Argentine national champion, adds to the list of noteworthy accomplishments by Richmond Green’s alumni.
The school also boasts an active and supportive student council body, also known as the SAC (Student Activity Council), through which grade representatives collaborate to plan and execute school events. The school’s Model United Nations Club is also noteworthy as it educates students in critical thinking, world issues, diplomacy, and public speaking. Members have gotten the opportunity to attend conferences across the GTA and have won many awards.
