Nestled in the heart of Maple, a community within Vaughan, SJA serves a diverse student population primarily composed of residents from Maple and other parts of northeastern Vaughan. The school’s location, at 1 St Joan of Arc Ave, is easily accessible, making it a convenient choice for local families.

Academic Excellence

SJA offers a comprehensive curriculum for grades 9 through 12. The school is committed to academic excellence and provides a variety of programs to cater to the diverse needs and interests of its students.

These include the Athletic Council, Taste of Joan Committee, Music Council, Student Council, Band, Dance Team, Awareness of Culture Equity, Arts Council, Ontario Students Against Impaired Driving, Chaplaincy, Drama Club, Chess Club, Student’s for Change, Mock Trial, Weight Room/ Fitness Club, Joan Journal, Yearbook, White Pine Reading, Vow of Silence, Think Fast Newspaper, and Model United Nations Choir.

Uniforms

The SJA Uniform consists exclusively of the following items: solid black dress shoes, black pants adorned with the “SJA” crest (please note that pants must be properly zipped up and worn at the waistline), and a long or short-sleeved golf shirt embroidered with the SJA logo, which must be worn at all times. Any undershirt worn beneath the SJA golf shirt must be solid grey, black, or white, with sleeves concealed. Additionally, an optional full-zip sweater may be worn; however, if opted for, only the golf shirt can be worn underneath it.

Community Involvement

St. Joan of Arc CHS is well known in the York Region for its generosity and commitment to charitable causes. The school community has raised significant funds for a variety of charitable causes, with the Terry Fox Foundation being a notable recipient.
