Westmount Collegiate Institute, located in Thornhill, Ontario, within the Vaughan area, opened in 1996 and is part of the Jean Augustine Complex. This multi-purpose facility is named in honor of Jean Augustine, the first African Canadian woman elected to Parliament and appointed to the federal cabinet. The complex also houses the Rosemount Community Centre and the City Playhouse Theatre, with which the school has limited access. On the west side of the complex is Butternut Child Care, a preschool operated by Upper Canada Creative Child Care, serving children aged four and under. Westmount Collegiate is part of the York Region District School Board.
